Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Hebrews 4:16
You have to admit, our world needs God’s mercy. These are turbulent times; times when only Jesus can provide the right answers. It appears that no matter where you turn, the assault on the foundations of our lives is constant. The idea of family is being shattered as many re-interpret what marriage means in their own way. Many homes are broken, or in the process of breaking. Human lives are in the grip of modern-day vices like alcohol, drugs, pornography, gluttony, busyness or despair. The assault on the children is like a drum-beat that grows ominously louder with each passing day. These are the days that Romans 1:25 describes thus, “They exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised.”
But God invites us to approach his throne with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and grace to help us in our time of need. Whatever your condition today, bring it to Jesus because He is the Light of our world.
Dear God,
We honor you and worship you today. There is no God like you. You are the Alpha and the Omega, the One and only True God. Before time was you were, and after time ceases, you alone will be (John 1:1.) Receive all the honor and all the glory; receive all the power and adoration. You, Oh God, are worthy to be praised.
Father, we bring our world before. It hurtles along like a train that has left its rails; remember mercy O Lord.
We bring our leaders before you, O King, fill them with your heavenly wisdom as you did King Solomon. Teach them, Blessed Holy Spirit, that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
We bring our families before you King Jesus, speak the Word that they might be healed. Bring forgiveness and reconciliation so that you might be glorified.
We bring fathers and mother’s before you Excellent Master, restore them to their purposes within the family and in your Kingdom.
We bring our children before you Beloved Savior; you alone are able to save. Shield them, O Lord from the dark and ungodly influences that surround them.
We bring the Church of Jesus Christ before your throne. Awake the Church, Everlasting Father, so that your people might be Salt and Light to the world.
We bring ourselves/ I bring myself before you Ancient of Days, create in us/me a clean heart O Lord, and renew a right spirit within us/me, so that we/I might serve you effectively for the rest of our/my days.
Pour out your mercy and your grace, Beautiful God, and help us in this time of need. Amen.
