Sunday Has Come!

They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

Luke 24: 2-3

Sunday has come!  Death is defeated; the tomb is empty; Our Savior has risen!  Hallelujah!

Rejoice and be glad this Easter because the Cross of Jesus Christ has spoken the final word concerning you.  Sparing nothing, God gave his one and only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, as a sacrifice for your sin and now you are made righteous through him.  For he who was without sin, became sin for YOU, so that in him you might become the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21).

As you celebrate the resurrection, take time to meditate on his deep and sacrificial love for YOU.  Love that held on through the stark loneliness he felt in the Garden of Gethsemane.  It held on through the agony of betrayal by one he loved so deeply, Judas.  Love persisted through the false accusations and unwarranted conviction before Pilate, Herod and the crowds that once lauded him.  Love stood steadfast through the strain and humiliation of the long trip to Golgotha, and through the excruciating agony of the crucifixion.  Love was there even through the darkness that enveloped him, even unto death.  Through it all love was there for YOU.

The story does not end there, his mission wasn’t complete because he came for YOU. On the third day, he burst forth from the grave, leaving his burial cloth behind and rolling the stone away, he emerged victorious, conquering sin and death with one final blow.  Now he LIVES and he promises that those who believe in him will never die.  They will live with him for all eternity.  Hallelujah!

Do you believe this?  Have you accepted the gift of Eternal life?  If not, make haste and receive him today.  Sunday has come, and it is all for YOU.  For now, is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2).

Dear Lord, I admit that I am a sinner.  I have done many things that don’t please you.  I have lived my life for myself only.  I am sorry, and I repent of my selfishness.  I ask you to forgive me all of my sins.  Cleanse me through the powerful blood of Jesus that was shed at Calvary for me.  I believe that you came to save me and died on the cross for me. You did what I could not do for myself. I now come to you humbly asking you to take control of my life; I give it all to you.   From this day forward, help me to live every day for you and in a way that pleases you.  I love you, Lord, and I thank you that I will spend eternity with you.  Through Jesus’ Holy Name I pray, Amen.
