Lead Me, Guide Me

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.  And he will be called Wonderful Counselor….

Isaiah 9:6

More than 800 years before Christ was born, the Prophet Isaiah wrote to Israel reminding them that their long-awaited Messiah was indeed coming to establish his Kingdom and he would bear the title, Wonderful Counselor.  The times were tumultuous, and Israel desperately needed this hopeful message.

As we navigate these confusing times in our own history and our own nation, the words of the prophet Isaiah remind us once again that this Wonderful Counselor whom we have all been waiting for, will come back once again to establish his Kingdom.  He will not just be an ordinary counselor, but one whose love and wisdom are in Sunday School language, “flowing deep and wide” and beyond our comprehension.

Whatever you may be facing today, know that this Wonderful Counselor already knows what you are going through, and he knows the right course of action for your future (Jeremiah 29:11).  Rest in Him.

Dear God, I cannot go through these current times on my own, so take my hand and lead me.  I will follow in obedience.  AMEN.
